P Lankesh

P Lankesh was born in 1935 . He was a well known poet in modern Kannada literature. He was a great short-story writer, novelist, playwright and journalist. English at the Central College of Bangalore University. He was a cultural leader and his ideas had their origins in the pluralistic traditions of kannada culture.Political and social concerns were an integral part of his cuttural thoughts. For him literature was hot an expression of one's experience alone but a powerful tool of social transformation.
His writing collection of poems, novels, short-stories, plays, translation, editorials, autobiography. Lankesh has won the central and state Academy awards for his literary works and a National award for his film 'Pallavi'.
